About the Future of Work Conference
Learn More About the ConferenceLearn More About the ConferenceThe Global Conference on AI and Future of Work (AFW) takes place in Seoul, South Korea, from 21 to 23 May 2027. It brings together economists, labour researchers, technologists, HR and workforce leaders, and policymakers around the question now facing every economy: as artificial intelligence moves into more of what we do, what happens to work — and to workers?
The predictions are loud and the evidence is quieter. Some tasks are being automated, others augmented, and new roles are appearing — but the data on net effects, on jobs, wages, skills, and inequality, is still being assembled across disciplines that rarely meet in one place.
What sets this future of work conference apart is that it treats the debate as an empirical question. Where an AI and jobs conference can stop at the headline — will the machines take the jobs? — AFW keeps going into the harder questions underneath it. It welcomes empirical studies, economic analyses, organisational case studies, policy evaluations, and practice-based contributions from every sector and every region.
Every abstract is reviewed double-blind by the Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts are published in the Conference Abstract Book with an ISBN, and full papers may be published in the Conference Proceedings with an ISSN and a Crossref DOI. The proceedings are submitted to Google Scholar for indexing consideration.
Participation is possible in person in Seoul, as a poster presenter, or virtually from anywhere.

Seoul — Host City of AFW 2027
Seoul is a fitting host for a future of work conference in 2027. It is one of the world's most technologically advanced capitals, in an economy already living through rapid automation and demographic change — the questions this conference asks are being answered in real time on its streets and in its offices. The conference takes place at [conf_venue], with sessions, poster displays, and networking in the same building.
A free guided Seoul tour is included in every registration — a chance to see the city and keep talking to people you met in the sessions.
Common Questions
Do I need a full paper to present?[+]
No. An accepted abstract is enough to present and to appear in the Abstract Book (ISBN). Full papers are optional and submitted after the conference.
I work in industry, not academia — can I present?[+]
Yes. AFW welcomes practice-based and case-study submissions from employers, technologists, and practitioners, reviewed on the same terms as research.
Can I attend without presenting?[+]
Yes. Listener registration gives you access to all sessions, materials, certificates, and the guided Seoul tour.
Is virtual participation available?[+]
Yes. Virtual presenters join live sessions with full Q&A, and receive the same publication opportunities.
